(Photo by Jamie Squire/Getty Images)On Saturday afternoon, the Kansas State Wildcats shocked the college football world with what they did to Oklahoma in the first half.
The Wildcats opened a 24-23 lead going into halftime and came out of the second half firing on all cylinders.
Kansas State currently holds a 41-23 lead with just over five minutes left in the third quarter.
Unfortunately for the Wildcats, the defense suffered a significant blow. The game entered a lengthy delay after linebacker Eric Gallon suffered an extremely gruesome leg injury.
Gallon attempted to recover an onside kick when one of his own teammates ran into his right leg – resulting in a truly horrific injury.
Video of the play is tough to watch.

It’s an awful scene for the Virginia transfer.
Medical personnel for Kansas State immediately rushed to his side, put his leg in an air-cast and secured him to a board to transport him off the field on a stretcher.
Both sidelines took a knee while he was taken off the field.
ESPN initially chose not to show a replay of the play for obvious reasons. We’ll keep you updated with the latest on his condition and the status of his injury.
In the meantime, Kansas State will try to hold on to a 41-23 lead.
