This is probably something really simple, however, I have not been able to locate an answer. We create manuals with part numbers, callouts on graphics and they are associated with the part in the text body and in the parts list. How can we link callout in the text to callout on the graphic? Link callout on the graphic to callout in the parts list. We import the Parts list using an excel spreadsheet that is created using the Solidworks CAD program.
We want the callout to change with minimal human action. So, we want to accomplish this: When a part is removed/changed in the Parts List, the number is automatically updated in the callout on the graphic which then automatically updates the callout in the text throughout the document.
