Get a sneak peek at DC Comics’ newest Wonder Woman graphic novel - Polygon

Diana, Princess of the Amazons is the latest in DC Comics line of graphic novels for the younger set, and it looks awfully cute.

The only child on an island of immortal adults, Diana feels like nobody really gets her — so she takes a page out of her mother’s book and makes herself a friend out of sand and clay. But is her new clay friend really such a good influence? And what’s the connection between her and Doom’s Doorway, the gate to the underworld of monsters?

The new book, hitting shelves on Jan. 7, is penned by the husband and wife team of Shannon and Dean Hale, with art from Victoria Ying. Shannon Hale is the award winning author of YA fantasy novels like Princess Academy and Book of a Thousand Days, and has co-authored a handful of graphic novels with Dean Hale, like The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl: Squirrel Meets World, and Rapunzel’s Revenge. Ying has a long pedigree of both children’s books and more serious work like at the Nib.

All in all, it’s a great team to be working on a coming-of-age story about Wonder Woman before she was Wonder Woman. You can see that for yourself in this exclusive 10-page preview, courtesy of DC Comics.
